As part of the Soil and Water Conservation Society – Ontario Chapter’s ongoing initiative for continuing education and fostering the science and art of soil, water and related natural resources, SWCS will be presenting the A.D. Latornell Award of Merits at this year’s Conservation Symposium. The A.D. Latornell Award of Merit is presented in both a student and non-student category. It recognizes those practitioners and students who through their dedicated hard work and in-depth studies strive to achieve sustainability and promote sound natural resource systems. Of key importance is the acknowledgement of the interdependence between people and their environmental setting.
The Award winners receive a full year membership to SWCS, an internationally known conservation organization. In addition a cash award of $600 is presented along with a one day sponsorship to the A.D. Latornell Conservation Symposium.
Applications and additional information for the two prestigious awards are available by contacting the SWCS Ontario Chapter Executive. Submissions and Applications will be received for the 2010 Awards by September 29th, 2010.
