2010 A.D. Latornell Conservation Symposium - Pioneer Awards Nominations are Being Accepted
Deadline is June 25, 2010
Organizational efforts for the 17th Annual A.D. Latornell Conservation Symposium are well underway. This conference is one of Ontario’s largest annual conferences focusing on environmental and conservation issues. This three-day event attracts over 1000 participants from government and non-government organizations.
The Conservation Pioneer Awards are an important part of the Latornell Symposium program. This award recognizes the lifetime achievements of people who have contributed significantly to the conservation movement in Ontario. The award was established in 1999, and since that time, 63 Pioneers have been recognized at the Symposium for contributions.
This award is named after the Symposium’s namesake, Art Latornell, a leading conservationist dedicated to the grassroots conservation movement in Southern Ontario. He motivated and inspired young people who were interested in the field of conservation and he provided a positive impact to the work of Conservation Authorities across Ontario.

If you know of someone deserving of this prestigious award, you are encouraged to submit a nomination for 2010.
