2026 Call for Student Moderators
Are you an undergraduate or graduate student in Ontario studying conservation, natural heritage management, or a related field? Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and looking to connect with professionals in the sector?
Applications are now open to serve as a student moderator at the Latornell Conservation Symposium, taking place on November 3–4, 2026, at the Nottawasaga Resort & Conference Centre in Alliston, Ontario.
This year’s theme, Powered by Purpose: Strong Watersheds, Strong Communities, explores the partnerships, innovation, and leadership needed to build resilient communities and healthy watersheds. The Symposium will also commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Conservation Authorities Act, making it a landmark event for Ontario’s conservation community.
Whether you’re looking to gain valuable conference experience or expand your professional network, this is an excellent opportunity to engage with conservation leaders, researchers, and fellow students from across Ontario.

Gain valuable public speaking and leadership experience while assisting in conference sessions. Moderators will:
- Manage session timing and facilitate Q&As
- Support speakers and ensure smooth session flow
- Oversee up to two sessions (half-day commitment)
- Attend additional workshops and networking events
